Josef-Peter Römer

 

JOSEF-PETER RÖMER was born in Dohna/Saxony, Germany DDR (German Democratic Republic). After completing the third grade he along with his older brother Jürgen were brought to West Germany by their grand mother, where they was reunited with their mother and adopted by a Soldier from th US Army.


After leaving Germany and residing in the USA in the State of Texas, at the age of 17 he decided to join the military like his step father a career Army man, and his older brother who joined the Air Force. Römer chose the US Marine Corps.


After completing 4 years military service in the US Marine Corps , Römer enrolled at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, in the Fine Arts program. Graduating with a BA in Painting and Print making.

In 1989 Römer went to Europe for approximately 10 years, working as a Designer for Theme Parks and apprenticing in Sculpting with Mr. Ludwig Seibert a renowned German Artist. Upon returning to the USA he opened a Studio in Southern California.


In 2007 Römer graduated from Warnborough College with an MFA degree in Painting. At the present time he paints in his Studio in Galesville, Wisconsin USA.
